Crystal candle holder

The main industry for crystal production was in Czechoslovakia. The Czechs got recognition for crystal glass production during the early 18th century and along with it came the cutting, engraving and painting of glass which was more popular than the earlier Venetian glass. In later years lead crystal glass which was easier to cut and mold because of the high content of lead in it was taken up by the French, Irish and the English. This glass was softer and had a high luster and became very popular. With the popularity of crystal glass came the onset of crystal candle holders.
Crystal candle holders were molded in intricate shapes and designs by expert craftsmen and were exported to all parts of the world. This became a booming trade and was much in demand by those who could afford it. Swedish crystal candle holders became famous with the designs of Jonas Torstensson, who created the most intriguing crystal candle holders. These candle holders radiate light in a way which only crystal which is genuine can do. The crystal ware of this famous designer brought in new techniques which made the crystal ware a work of art to be cherished among the heirlooms and not just a piece of art to exhibit and decorate your home with.
Crystal ware and especially the candle holders are shipped to different parts of the world from the workshops of their famous manufacturers in wooden boxes for protection from breakage. The candle holders come in various shapes and sizes to decorate the homes and tables in an awesome manner.
